Of course, have to earn my drinks and smores . I did an hour of intervals on the bike and swam 3,600 in an outdoor pool. It was lovely.

Happy 4th to everyone!

I did Deer Creek Canyon for the first time today.  An hour and 15 up, about 20 minutes down.  It was a short 8.5 miles up but it had over 2000 feet of elevation gain.  Loved the descent.  Hoping to do High Grade in the next couple of weeks.

PennState - 2009-07-04 2:39 PM ^^^ I love swimming in an outdoor pool!

That was my first time and it was so nice! It made it seem so much less like work and it was almost fun Too bad I don't have access to one at home. Sigh.

28 days to Steelhead. I need to do a long run and bike this weekend, and it's down rain. I've got the bike on a trainer, and can handle some of the time on it, but I can't handle 2 hours on the dreadmill.

Happy 4th.  Some family trvia: both my mother and mother-in-law were born on the 4th... how weird?

Anyhow, walked on the beach with my wife this morning and swam about 2000 yards off Martha's Vineyard.  NOt a bad day, now bring on beer, baseball, nap, clams, lobster, cake, etc.

Did 82 miles on the bike so I can eat plenty of BBQ ribs and drink a beer or two. Did I mention it was like 93 degrees out there and humid to boot?

4500 meter swim this morning.  Now I'm waiting for the wife to come home from work so we can go out and do an hour run in the park.

Then for a not so traditional meal of spaghetti and of course a few beers and watch some fireworks in the park behind the house

7.5 mile run.
cool and overcast when i started; hot and sunny when i finished.

i love where i live: i ran down to the beach (maybe 2 miles from my house) and did a loop on the oceanfront walk.  this morning there was a big yoga group posing all over the place, a kids "fitness by the sea" event, tons and tons of families setting up early for their july 4th festivities, a group of older folks doing tai chi and (with my loop coming right up on Venice) tons of nearly naked, tattooed people on rollerskates.  great morning for people-watching.
