Any Tri groups on Ft. Bragg?  Even beginners?  I'm a beginner as well, won't be competing in my first Tri until September.

I wish they had the Ft Bragg triathlon still. It was my first back in 86? Back when I was in A Co. 1/505 PIR.

There is one that I know of, although I haven't had time to train with them because it doesn't fit into my training schedule very well. I'll see if I can find their information.

I looked at their website about a month ago after seeing this thread.  Looks like they have hundreds of small groups and you have to do a search on what you're looking for.  So from the main page, click "small groups" then do a search using "health & fitness" as your keywords.

Not sure how active they are because one of them says swimming on Fridays at 6:30 am at the YMCA;  but I'm there at 6:30 am and I've never seen anyone from Manna Church.

Hmmm... tried to post link to search results, but it goes to a dashboard instead.  You'll have to run a search from the Manna homepage.

I do not train with Manna because they do most of their training while I am at work.  But if you call or e-mail Michael Fletcher (he is the pastor at the church and an ironman), he will be happy to give you their workout schedule.  Good luck!

Because the majority of the team is in the midst of training for IronMan Floriday 2009, some of the group times and locations have been changed.  We run Tues/Thurs, ride Wed/Sat, and swim Fridays.  Here's what the schedule looks like:

Tuesday 6:00am:  Long run (10-15 miles).  Mett at Manna Church.  Participants of all levels.  We typically break into smaller groups to run our own pace.

Wednesday 6:00-7:30am: Bike speedwork.  Meet at Covenant Love Church parking lot.  We follow specific workout plans from our coach.  These rides can be somewhat fast, but not too fast to grab a wheel and hang on for the ride.  Typically followed by a 20 min run.

Thursday 7:00-8:00am. Run speedwork.  Meet in Kingsford off McPherson Church Rd.  We follow specific track-type workouts from our coach.

Friday 6:30am.  Open water swim.  We drive out to Carolina Lakes for a long continuous swim, typically 40-60 mins at your own pace.

Saturday 6:00am.  Long group ride.  We meet at various locations to ride different loops.  Mileage currently varies from 60-100 miles.  Followed by 3-6mi run.  These are not liesurely tours.  The team is training for an IM and the pace typically stays above 20mph.  NOT a no-drop ride.

Anyone who's interested is welcome to PM me to get more info.  We'd love to have you at any of the above workouts.

Chris' info is on point in terms of training days/times with Manna Multi-Sport. I've trained with them for over a year in the Tuesday run & used to ride with the Wednesday group. There are many of us in the club who actively train & race that are not on the IM team. We train in various locations outside of those listed above. We have a great, long run group that meets on post at Bragg every Saturday morning at 6:30 led by a guy who's a multiple-Boston marathoner (he's our current MMS prez) -- all levels are welcome!!! There's almost always a good number of us who ride on Bragg on Saturday mornings at 6:30'ish (mostly a random variety of folks). We ride a different route than the IM team because of the distance. Rides are anywhere from 20-50 miles, depending on schedules & who's riding. The coach of the club is a certified tri, cycling, and run coach. She also does performance coaching for individuals w/various plan options (very reasonably priced).

C4 is our local cycling club w/various rides & levels. http://crosscreekcyclingclub.org/Portal/

Hope this helps!

C4 does group rides twice a week Tue/Thu on Ft. Bragg at 5:30pm usually. They start at Range 37 where I work. Bunch of us ride in the mornings around Longstret/Preacher/Manchester/King/Vass roads. We're getting ready for Tour de Moore on September 7th.
