Subject: Long Bike Rides/Biking Groups in Boston Proper?
Hello Everyone,

I am competing in my first Olympic Triathlon in September (I completed a sprint 3 years ago), and am looking for some long bike rides in the immediate Boston area. I live in Roslindale. I know we have the several short trails in the area, but I don't know where to start for my long training days. Also, does anyone know about any biking groups in the area or triathlon training groups I can join?

Thanks!!

Stephanie

mapmyride has a bunch.

Tuesday nights there is a ride out of Cleveland Circle - about 30 miles (just under I think) led by Landry's/Green Velo.  A B and C rides - some decent climbs.....

most of the other rides happen from outside the city.

which race are you doing?

I've never done a ride with this group myself but I've heard they have good rides: all kinds of distances, different paces and experience levels of rides, rides starting in different places in and around Boston, etc:

I ride with crw and am a member, but none of the rides happen from the city proper.  their cue sheet repository is excellent.  the 43 miler I did yesterday was with them.

the saturday morning fitness ride out of nahanton is probably the closest to the city - you now have to be a member to do this ride.  has 3 different distances and at least an A B and C group

Wow, lot of great information, keep it coming!

I am racing the Plymouth Rock Tri - Oly on September 5th. My last tri I lived in Medford so I was very close to the minuteman trail. Now I have a new bike and live in Roslindale, and the streets are less cozy to ride on. Anyone ever ride in the Blue Hills?
