There is no weight on your ankle while swimming...now get to the pool!!!

macaco - 2005-05-25 10:50 AM Hey Guys...I jacked up may ankle last night running into a chair while playing volleyball...It was completely swollen this morning and I can't flex it at all..so my swimming, biking and running may be done for the month.

Back off your swimming some after the challenge is over and I bet you'll see the results from all this hard work.  Recovery, recovery, recovery!

Tri Take Me Away - 2005-05-25 11:25 AM My April swim total was 21,300 yards. My pledge was 30,000 yards and as of today I am at 33,075. I have followed my plan for bike and run, so I have not taken away from them. Alas, although I feel stronger in the water, I am not getting any faster. I tested myself today and my 100 pace is exactly the same as the last time I tested, probably 2 or more months ago. Blech.

FWIW, it took about 2 months or so of increased swim volume (30+k) before I saw improvements in swim times. Hang in there, keep it up, and then when the improvements come, they will come on quick, and you'll look back and realize you just went faster than before with less effort.

That that double post thing sucks...there is no way to retract/delete an extra post if you goof up....  I'm blaming it on that stupid preview feature.......

But yeah...I was proud of myself....

But then I look at the swim logg for GRIFS.  That guy is a maniac!  Over 80,000 yds this month!!  YIKES!!

TH3_FRB - 2005-05-25 8:42 AM How much has everyone cut back on biking and running to reach their swim goals?

I had knee surgery, so I only have swimming  for this time frame. I'll get in the pool tomorrow first time since the surgery (last thursday). Should have been sooner, but I had spinal headaches for 5 days..didn't think the pressure would be a good idea. I think i''ll reach my goal, which WILL be my best ever.  I have never been consistent or consistently covering all three sports. So, my overall picture is that this challenge helped me to see some consistency in my training. Thank you!!

Got to agree with you Danny. Grifs is unbelievable.

The swim challenge has been fantastic (win or lose) no way would I have swam this much without it. Oh yea all other stats are at double from last month - but that's saying nothing as that month was a nightmare.

Met my goal today for Team DY!K......after I lopped off a good bit of my fingertip in a gymbag packing accident (damn Mach3 razor cartridges realy do work better than single blade models.....).  I had my hand double-bagged and wrapped, & the swimming....well, it sucked. By the way, "Suck it up, buttercup!" is my 5 year old's favorite new phrase. I don't plan to miss any workouts, so all's well. Let's go Team DY!K!!  Glad  I don't have to say that out loud, like in front of other people who just don't understand...

I was not trying to induldge in trash talk when I called the guys wusses.  Sue seemed geniunely upset by the remarks regarding her over achieving on her swim goals, so I was trying to encourgae her not to take the remarks seriously.

The swim challenge has been good for me.  I'm over 16,000 yards for this month which is way more then I've done in any other month this year.  Without the challenge I probably wouldn't have swam today.  I didn't have a whole lot of time between appointments, but I was determined to get those yards in, so I made do with the time I did have.

Everyone rawks!!!

Four more swim days left (not counting Sunday since pool is closed). I need to average almost 3000 yards/day to meet my goal. Yikes!  Maybe I can swim morning and evening (we've got a pool at our office here)...

OK Ladies - Get in that pool and get the yards in.

We really want to see those speedo's for the next month!

I've got 825 yards left to go. I plan to swim both Saturday and Monday so I should easily pass my goal. Which is almost double what I swam last month!

It's a holiday weekend - you've got nothing better to do - RIGHT?

I have some suggestions which I hope the men will take to heart when they pose for their respective photos.

In the first picture, we have a nice full body shot. The lighting makes it interesting. This gets 2 thumbs up.

I really like the angle on the 2nd pic. We get to see some chest, the nicely developed back muscles (and gratuitous butt shot), legs. This is my #1 recommendation for the men to mimic their shots on although pic #1 is pretty tough to beat.

#3 and 4 are action shots. Those would provide some variety in the pic layouts.

Ian Thorpe is YUMMY...

I knew I was wasting my life as a teacher when I read somewhere that he needed 2 or 3 people to help him get into his speed suit...some professions are so much more rewarding than others.
