I hate getting on the scale! I know how much I weighed a few months ago. I hate getting on a scale and seeing the numbers. I am not fooling myself and I will get on the scale every few months. But day to day it is nerve racking and sort of depressing. I know I am losing weight because I have dropped 2 clothing sizes. Anyone else have similar issues?

I'm right there with ya on hating the scale.  I used to weigh myself every Tuesday, but it got to the point where it was triggering anxiety and panic in me.  So I stopped for awhile.  Got back on last week...the first time in over 2 months!  I was down like 4lbs...but still...it just turns me into a neurotic mess every time.   I don't even keep a scale in my house, because I would obsess over it too much.

The scales never seem to show my efforts.  I have actually gained 3 pounds since January.  Just got on this morning.  I couldn't believe it.  I am in way better shape and have lost inches for sure.  Clothes are all pretty loose.  I know I can eat better, I have given up soda and don't drink hardly any adult beverages anymore either.  I consider myself a healthy eater, but not an extremist.  I still want ice cream and chocolate.  It's nice to know I'm not the only one that can't figure this weight lose thing out.  Thanks for your post.  I would love to know what to do differently, besides starving myself.

I don't keep one. Too much anxiety, too much stress, too much bad feelings that don't accurately indicate how I'm doing overall. There's nothing more crushing than going out and killing a workout, feeling super great about your body, and coming home to a scale that doesn't match up to that. It makes it feel like you're never going to see results, when the truth is that there ARE results that just don't translate to the scale.

Yeah, I do, because it doesn't lie. And when I see that number on it, I know that I have to stop eating out so much and lay off the desserts.

Stay off the scale.  I went down from a 37 waist to a 31 waist started in January.  What kept me going wasn't scale but rather my clothes literally falling off me.  I had to keep adding holes to my belts.  One thing that worked for me was looking in the mirror everyday.  the mirror doesn't lie at all, the scale fluctuates too much with water, muscle, fat, digestion, etc.  Look in the mirror and you get to see the results happening.  I am seeing my abs for the first time since I was in high school!!  Now that's motivating....
