Hi everyone.

I want to start a Swim/Run series like the Splash and Dash Series out at Canyon Lake. Once it cools down I am thinking about having it on Thursday evenings out at Canyon Lake.

Is this something that would be of interest to everyone?

What days and times would be the best?

Thursday evenings?

Sat am?

Sun am?

Hi Dr. Jeff!

I vote Sun morning, and vote for one where the run is a longer distance run.

I'd be up for it on Saturday or Sunday mornings. I'm guessing that Canyon Lake not a good place to bike?

We did some undergrounds out at Canyon it is not too bad to bike out there. I just thought swim / runs would easy easier.

Canyon Lake is a little cleaner than Butcher Jones. Maybe we can some some at both lakes?

Can you give me some info on the Butcher Jones swim / runs?

Thanks

The Thursday swim/runs start at 5:30 pm at Butcher Jones and all are welcome.  Swim distance for the bouys is mapped in anther thread and vary with water depth.  However, the run right after is the fun part.  from the lake back to the Bush highway is 2 miles of all up-hill at a pretty good incline.  The best news is this makes the return to the lake a breezy and quick run back down hill for a great reverse split time!

RockNFire posted:

"I posted it as a route " Butcher Jones Cove Swim", but here is the break down in Meters.

Shore to first buoy - 130m+/- depends on where you start and how high the water is.

Outside buoys 511 meters and inside loop 200 meters. And for those who really like to break things down

buoy1-2 = 147 m; buoy 2- 3 = 50 m; buoy 3-4 = 30; buoy 4-5 =184 m; buoy 5-6= 61 m and buoy 6-1 = 39 m."
