Subject: Free to Breathe : Official Thread

This was a really well run race last year, especially for an inaugural event (disclaimer, my wife helps organize the race, so I might be a little biased). This year promises to be bigger and better and for a great cause.

Here's the details from the web site http://www.freetobreathe.com/ (click on Kansas City, MO Sept 27th Race):

This is the second annual Free to Breathe® Lung Cancer 5K in Memory of Julia Miles. The event provides an opportunity for lung cancer advocates, survivors and the community to come together to raise awareness and support to fight this disease. All proceeds from this event will benefit the National Lung Cancer Partnership's research, education and awareness programs.

Race Course:
The race course is a scenic, tree-lined course that winds through the Leawood South Golf Course. It is a one-loop, uncertified course that is flat and fast. Click here to view a map of the course.

Driving Directions & Parking:
The race starts and ends at Zepi's Pizza and Pub, 13164 State Line Road in Leawood, KS. Leawood is on the southern side of the Kansas City metropolitan area.

Take the State Line Road exit from I-435 and go south 3.3 miles. Zepi's is on the right-hand (Kansas) side between W. Blue Ridge Blvd. on the north and W. 133rd Street on the south.

Parking is available at Zepi's Pizza and Pub, with plenty of overflow parking on the Missouri side of State Line Road.
