Subject: I just entered my first..uh biathlon?
Well I've done it now. I signed up for this event at F.E.Warren AFB. It looks easy, a 10k bike ride followed by a 5k run. They are referring to this as a Biathlon. Is that not where you ski around and shoot things? Anyway it seems simple enough. I'll use a MB and I think a total time of 55 will be my modest goal. Biathlon?????HMMM.

DrLeah was right - the American Triathlon Calendar refers to these events as Duathlons - two out of the three triathlon events. I've seen bike/run duathlons on that site.

Good luck in your race...and remember to control your breathing before firing. Anschutz rifles are supposed to be best for Biathlon. Are Blue skis faster than red?

Oops...not that Biathlon.

Actually...I've usually scene run-bike-run (2 sport - 3 section events) listed as duathlon, and bike-run (2 sport -2 section events) listed as biathlon.

And  if you'd like a custom-made sling for your rifle, my husband makes the best in our area!  (He is a biathlon fanatic, in the winter on skis, in the summer, it's run and shoot).
