checked bike and race bag.
Rode to transition area, set and began warm up.
Event warmup:

Rode bike up first hill of course, about 10 mins total. (Lynch hill)
Racked bike, light stretch, then ran easy about 20 mins incorporated a few short sprints, light stretch, walked the transition area and visualized my race, back to rack, put on wet suit and did about 10 mins easy swim, then lined up.
Swim
  • 25m 59s
  • 1500 meters
  • 01m 44s / 100 meters
Comments:

Swim is a violent start, very bottle necked and hectic.
But Happy it was in a lake.
felt a little paniced in the beginning, but relaxed and was able to gain strength as I reeled in more swimmers. My sighting was on excpet at one point probably could have saved myself a few meters.
What would you do differently?:

Swim a little harder in the beginning of the race.
Transition 1
  • 01m 19s
Comments:

fetl fast and relaxed in the transition.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Bike
  • 1h 13m 41s
  • 40 kms
  • 32.57 km/hr
Comments:

I felt awesome on the bike.
The course is tough, but not that tough if you set yourslef up early and spin the up hill, and crank the flats and downhills. I really liked the bike course, my training was perfect for this race. I might have held back a little but not too much. I never felt tired.

What would you do differently?:

I probably would have drove the corse the previous day so I would know where the turnaround was at. Then I cold have pushed a little harder wothout fear of blowing up.
Transition 2
  • 00m 54s
Comments:

The transition was very smooth and fast. I am very pleased with both of my transitions.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Run
  • 46m 18s
  • 10 kms
  • 04m 38s  min/km
Comments:

I got severe stomache cramps in the first 1km of my run, not sure why this happens, but it is either from my swimming technique, or digestion post swimming, itonly happens after I swim. The pain doesn't usually occur until after the bike portion, like when I stand up my abdominal wrench me down. So badly that my run turns int a jog walk, it is misery. I must figure this out ASAP. has happened in 50% of my races.
What would you do differently?:

Not eat breakfast, or consume any calories on the bike.
Post race
Warm down:

I was so upset after the race my only warmdown was the walk back up the hill to the campsite.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My stomache pain. Not usre what the actual problem is but I must fix it.

Event comments:

I am not a huge fan of camping out and Wildflower is the Woodstock of triathlon. The race is very well organized, but I believe that Terri Davis should keep his religious beliefs to himself. At an event as large as Wildflower it is tacky to make a public display of Christianity the way he doeas, blasting Christian Rock, and praying. we are all there to race not to be saved. Other than the forced Jesus issues I had the race is amazing and I will do it again.

If you ever figure out how to get rid of stomach issues... let me know! Maybe there's some magic combo of food/drink...or as you said, very little solid food. I know that the coffee would definitely NOT help my stomach.

I saw your age group start - looked really violent from up on the hill!
