On my long runs greater then two hours I am sweating so much my shoes are becoming squishy. The sweat is running down my legs and into my shoes.

Has anyone ever used a sweat band or anything like that to help with this problem?

Thanks.

Same thing happens to me.  Haven't heard of any good way to prevent it.  Your feet sweat too, remember.

I've been running in 90-95 degree heat and it is more then just foot sweat. All the sweat from my head down seems to be running into my shoes. If it were just foot sweat i would use antiperspirant spray.

It is not very often that I run in conditions that make me sweat like that... but when I do, I wear Glide SS socks.  They are a little awkward compared to 'normal' running socks, as the low-cut ones go about mid-shin, but they do a GREAT job of keeping your feet dry.

I know you used to be able to pick them up at D1cks Sporting Goods...

smartwool socks. $15 a pair. No squish, Ive worn them for 4 days in a row, soaking wet without any issues.

Smart Wool's still slosh on my feet.  Here in Austin, TX, 100F is a cool summer day.  When I'm done with a long run, I look like I've just jumped in a lake.  I don't know of any way to help your/our sloshing problem.

Another vote for SmartWools - they are the best, but still aren't a perfect solution. When everything is water-logged down there, normal shoes feel like bowls filled with water. Any type of sock can only do so much to make you comfortable, but SmartWools are the best for that mission impossible task.

My issues with this problem have finally driven me to trying out some Zoot shoes with the "Tri-Dry" drainage holes. Ahhh, heavenly! Cool

I'm even running sockless in them now (just  bout a week into this sockless experiment and up to 8 miles now - no issues at all so far, knock on wood...)

Just another option for ya...

Cheers, Chris
