Comments:

It rained the entire time with the wind in your face on the way out. I wore my fuel belt with Cytomax and ate 2 gels (at the start, at the 50 min mark). I focused on keeping below my LT threshold (166) for the first 9 mile. Miles 9-10.5 I went somewhat harder (170). For the lst 2 miles I did not even look at my HRM I just ran about 10% faster than what felt comfortable.

Event comments:

The course is really nice. You are along the lake for most of the race with a lot of really great views. Too bad it had to rain all day.

Course: Mostly down hill for the mile 1.5 miles. There was some gentle (moderate in length hills) for the next 4 - 4.5 miles. Around mile 6 there was about a .75 mile climb (not too steep). That was followed by about 1 mile of mostly down hill. Miles 8-11 were short (somewhat steep) rollers near the water. Between mile 11 and 12 was the last climb of the race, about .33 miles in length and decently steep. From there to the end was pretty much a gentle down hill slope to the finish.
