Weight for 8/5/09: 173.2
Weight for 8/12/09: 171.2
Down 2lbs

I am really happy that I was able to drop 2 lbs but I am still a little frustrated that I havent gotten down below 170 yet... Hopefully that will change by next week.

start = 275

week 1 = 271.4

week 2 = 271.6

No exercise (due to injury still) and an average 1500cal a day = no weight loss

Hope everyone had a better week.

This week I'm 173.5, so no loss, but no gain either! Considering how I've been eating, I'm grateful.

O.K.! 310 last week.
Down to 306 today.
And I did it while fighting off a mild cold which is almost out of my system. That may be why I lost itSealed!
However you look at it, it's still 4lbs I don't have to carry around all the time!!!

Down 0.7 pounds.  Hurrah!  I think that put me at 141.9.  Not sure about the point 9 part, but really sure about the 141 part.  Hey, I might actually make my goal this month.  I've been doing The Zone and it was a slow start, but I think it is really starting to kick in.

Leah,  Quiet about the "goal" thing.  Just let it happen or you will suffer the wrath of the weight gods.

This week did not go as well as last but I'm still ahead of the original plan.  Weighed in at 199.8 so still about the same as last week.  This is the second week that my wife has been out of town so I don't think I am doing too bad considering I am doing the cooking.

Start  (May 09) - 210
Ultimate goal    - 185

This month
Start     - 204
week 1 - 200
week 2 - 199.8
Goal     - 197

Been on vacation.

Not in a good mood as far as weight goes - it seems like it never gets better just constantly worse. Why is that? I feel like just giving it all up, and just sitting on the couch and getting fat. It doesn't seem to matter what I do anyway. I am just not happy with myself and my diet lately.

I think Cad needs a hug!!

Have you thought about a medical problem? Thyroid?  I know little about this part so I am guessing.  Otherwise it must be in food choices or amount of food choices.

You will get through this and come out stronger and better prepared.

Never give up.  When you are sunk into the depths of despair, just work at maintaining.  At least then you won't have pity pounds that you will eventually have to lose.  You know you will.  We all have been there and, personally, there is very little more annoying than having to re-lose recently-lost pounds.  Just stay away from the cookies and maintain.

I looked at your logs and your heading is Don't Panic.  That's good advice.  You recently had a good swim, but you haven't posted anything else.  Post your workouts, even vacation workouts, and that can be a great motivator to get out and do something.  I work on having a "peach" each and every day and sometimes (like last weekend) when I was on vacation in Lake Tahoe, my peaches were pretty pitiful, but they were peaches nonetheless.  I have had solid peaches since mid-March and that is a HUGE motivator to do something, anything, each and every day.  I don't want to lose my streak.

And since Saling thinks you need a hug, consider yourself hugged.

Good luck with Jari there Mindy.

Came across an book that was discussing carbs and fat usage in the body.  I have always thought that excess carbs are stored as fat,  but in actuality the excess carbs are burned and your body just doesn't burn the fat that it would have if the carbs were absent.  The outcome is almost the same,  but the way it happens changes dramatically.

The logic here escapes me.  Why couldn't you do your 40 mile bike ride tomorrow?

I thought the same thing when I wrote this...LOL.  I normally do my long ride and run on the weekend.  Normally run Sat and ride Sun.,  but since I worked Sat I will run Sun.  Clear as mud.

Thought I'd just jump in here a quick second and say how glad I'll be to see monday morning.

This weekend has been full of temptation of the food kind. (2 cook outs, Breakfast at Golden Coral and a Strawberry cheese cake made just for me for doing a good deed from my next door neighbor lady). However, I stayed true for the most part to my diet. I kept reminding myself, "moderation Dave, moderation".

O.K. Carry on!

Hey Cad, hang on in there! I've been there just a few weeks ago- I know things are looking very gloomy now but that will pass. I know it's easier said than done but try to stick to reasonably healthy food- overeating only makes things worse. And once you feel a bit better maybe it would be a good time to introduce some changes into to your dieting? What really does the trick for me is not considering my eating as "being on a diet"- that only freaks me out and makes me eat even more. I'm trying to think about it as "healthy eating" - sounds much better, doesn't it? I know it might sound weird but I often think how this healthy eating and training make me different from all those people around- kinda special (but in the good sense of the word). And sure I stuff my face - like for the past 2 days cos I've been away etc- but funny enough I'm happy it's Monday and I go back to my healthy eating because it's soooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better than all the junk food I had over the weekend.

Try to relax about it all and remeber we're here to help!
