Whoa, I always thought people were being wussies when I heard them whining about uncomfortable seats on their rides.  Let me tell you, after yesterday's sprint distance, my butt was pretty much numb exept for a couple of muscles that are still sore and I had a difficult time getting my run on after.

Should I switch seat out?    Current seat is Bontrager that came on Trek...very uncomfortable and was wondering if others have had same issues?

Thanks!

I have trained on this saddle and never had the problem until yesterday....granted I didnt ride that much the week of the race, only 20 miles.

Did you wear tri shorts? Bike shorts? Jammers?
What version of boatranger?
How padded was the saddle? I've found the more padded the thing is the more it rips my undercarriage up.

Have you been fitted to that bike or did you do it yourself? You might not have the bike adjusted right.

The saddle is Bontrager Race  Basic and I was wearing Tri Shorts with little padding.  Usually I find myself trying to sit back on saddle but didnt think about it during race.  I have not had bike professionally fitted, I just made some minor adjustments.  Will take it in for professional fitting though, I have some time before next race.

Thanks for your help

Oh, those stock saddles on the Trek bikes are cr@p. You need to get a new saddle too. Unless you like that saddle... and you might like it. A fitting will possibly help. If it doesn't... get a new saddle.

^^^^What she said.  Most stock saddles blow.  Getting dialed into the right position will help and a better saddle will make you feel even better.  There are tons out there and the different shops in your area should let you test some out.  If not some companies let you test them out.  Also if you find yourself moving around alot on your saddle you should lube up your "sitting" area.  That'll help with the chaffing.  Good luck.
