Subject: Season's Done Now what?

My first tri season is done.  I did 2 races and had a blast.  I have four scheduled for next year.  What should I be doing now.  I have 2 road running races planned for November which I am starting training for now.  My first tri next year is in May.  I am going to start a master swim class team in September.  I guess my question is--does everyone train all year round?  Do you train for the session and then take some time of?  Do you start weight training in the off session to build muscle?

You're just into the heavy part of the tri year. Go find a couple sprints to do this year before your running races

My last tri for the year was yesterday.  For some reason there aren't many races here in Aug.  I think the lakes get too green by the end of summer <gross>.  I have 2 duathlons in Sept and then a half marathon in Oct.  The thought that I don't really *have* to swim anymore didn't make me really sad.  Yes, I'll keep swimming, but lately swim training has been kind of frustrating.  It will be nice to take a break from it.  My off-season goal is to put together a strength training program and stick to it.  I normally scale back training in Nov and Dec to kind of "maintence" mode and start fresh in Jan with base building again.  Up here, running races start in April (when the ice melts), duathlons in May and tris in June.

My last tri of the year was yesterday also.  Getting into heavy training part for October marathon so perfect timing.

Might also ride a few TT's and a Road race or two but will have to see how the legs are feeling.
