My first sprint tri is less than two weeks away and I've been training hard but need some advice about T-2. Does anyone have a pedal technique that helps get the calf muscle ready for the run? In my rehearsals I've been jelly legged for about the first mile.
Also, to start my bike/run brick I stick the garden hose down my bike shorts to thoroughly wet them. This is not for any tactical advantage but rather to give the neighbors something to talk about. Good tri.

In my limited experience, I've found that it take me about 1/2 to 3/4 a mile to get my running legs after a good long cycle. I have read that spinning at a higher cadence (100+) about 1/2 a mile or so puts more blood to your muscles and eases your transition. Have not done a brick to experiment with it yet though...

Yeah, the best approach is to parctice, practice, practice the bricks to get your muscles used to the transition.

I'd try the garden hose thingy but my neighbors already have too much to talk about.

What's the "garden hose" thingy?

Chug a mountain dew, put your forehead on a bat and spin around 10 times, then leave t-2. You won't even notice your legs...and you'll be MOVING!

I try to get up out of the saddle for 3-400m and "jog" on the bike. It works for me.
