Subject: Hamstring Pull . Advice please
I have pulled my left hamstring. Its minor , but annoying. Stopped 20 mins into my run last night and when I tried to start again it pulled up instantly. Any advice ? Swim Swim swim ? Will bike be ok ?  Get on a eliptical trainer ? How long should I rest it ? Anti- inflams ? Stretches? which ones ? Hate the idea of not training to full capacity when first Tri of the year is in 26 days. Rest right ? Hate rest!!!

Hey, I'm replying because I could've written this post today word for word...and I posted on the main forum because I'm a jerk and want my quesitons answered.

I see you posted on the 10th...10 days out are you feeling any better? What did you wind up doing? My GP suggested rest (cycling, swimming, elliptical and anything that does not cause pain are OK) ice and ibuprofin, and I'm going to see a physical therapist to get a biomechanical eval to make sure there's nothing physically wrong causing it.

Hope you're better. This hamstring thing HURTS. :P

Stretch stretch stretch stretch, rest and then stretch some more.  Avoid that which makes it hurt. Ice, NSAIDs stretch...did I say stretch???
