As long as we're venting, I'd just like to point out that only four teams have scored more points than mine, yet the way the match ups fell I'm in second last place and out of the playoffs.

And yes, living where I do, I've got plenty of cheese to go with my whine.

Man you sure kicked my butt. The Giants killed me. The Giants defense got me 1 point and like I said before Eli -2.  I need to make some serious changes if I'm gonna stay in first place or heck even compete.

Has anyone checked out Yahoo!'s Matchup Recaps? It's actually pretty amazing how personalized they make it. Here's a few "choice" notes for Rocco's Rockers that will have me crying in my beer in my (long) offseason:

What If

Rocco's Rockers would have lost to just one other team besides Blind Squirrel this week.

Rocco's Rockers would be 5-4 if they played the same schedule as Blind Squirrel.

If they played every team every week, Rocco's Rockers would be 64-44-2.

Game Notes

Luck has not been with Rocco's Rockers, as four of their eight losses have come when their opponent scores higher than their season average.

Rocco's Rockers scored 100 points and lost. It is the highest losing score in the league this season.

Rocco's Rockers scored 100 points against a projected 80.31 and beat their scoring projection for the fifth time this season, including the last four weeks in a row.

With the loss, Rocco's Rockers has the longest losing streak in the league, stretching back six straight games.

The 3-point margin of victory was the smallest in the league this week.

I now have the second highest "Points For" in the league and have no chance of making the playoffs. I must have really pizzed off the Fantasy gods somehow.

Tea Bags got Squirreled!

After a slow start, I'm happy how the latter half of the season went for me, winning six straight and finishing as the high scorer.

Now on to the playoffs where anything can happen!

Congrats everyone on another fun year.  I'll do a final audit and tally of the numbers after this weekend and will contact each of you that are owed payouts.  Thanks again all and looking forward to next year already.

Here is our payout structure again for your review:

  • Entry fee - $50
  • Number of teams - 12
  • Total amount paid in - $600

  • Highest scoring team each week wins $10
  • Total to be paid out for highest points - $160 (16 weeks x $10)
  • Regular Season Champ - $50
  • Total paid out before championship game - $210
  • Amount left for Playoff payouts - $390
  • Playoff Champion - 75% or $292.50
  • Playoff Runner up - 25% or $97.50

Also, if there are any changes you would like to see with the league for next year (scoring, lineups, payouts, etc), bring it up sooner rather than later.  We can talk about it as a league now and have things lined up for next season early.

Last...have a fantastic Holiday!  Thanks again.

Thanks for organizing, Kristen! And congrats to the winners. I figured I better let a few other folks win this season to keep people coming back.

As far as rule changes, I'd like to see us move to PPR next year. Also, I think it would be better to limit the playoffs to the Top 6 regular season finishers. Besides the division winners, the final spot could be determined by total points for. The top two seeds would get first round playoff byes.

Eight out of twelve teams making the playoffs just seems excessive, and doesn't reward the top finishers enough (and I say that as someone who made the playoffs as the #8 seed this year.) My two cents.

Of the proposed changes thus far i'm OK with

  • 1/2PPR
  • Six playoff qualifiers, top three in each division by W-L record
  • Division winners getting first-round byes

Even as the high scorer in the regular season I'm against total points scored determining anything except maybe as a tie breaker. Playoff spots should be determined first by W-L record. Otherwise the regular season games are meaningless.

Wonder if I can put this in my signature for the next few months:
