Subject: I feel stupid. How do I log my pace?
I'm trying to log my running pace in my training log in the little box that says "mins/mile" next to it.  I'm doing an 11 min mile (very slow but I'm just starting out running) but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to enter it.  I put in something, then press "calc" and it just says "infinity".  I'm so confused.

Help!  Please?

You need to have a time and a distance entered to be able to calculate a pace.

Wow, I am stupid.  Thanks.

Edit:  Wait, no.  I'm still confused.
I have that I ran for 5 minutes in the total time box on top, then there's the little box under that says "Dist" next to it and the other one with "Mins/Mile" next to it.  What do I put in each box?

Put in the time you ran and then put the distance you ran.  If you click "calc" after that, it will populate the mins/mile box with your pace.

Oh, so it doesn't work the other way around?  I know my pace, I want to know my distance.

No. If that's what you are looking for then you'll need to find some sort of running calculator.

Minutes/Pace=Distance

You can just do that if you want to get numbers to log.

So I ran 50 minutes at a 10min/mile pace.  Distance = 50/10 = 5miles.

Though if you have seconds, you will have to convert to decimal minutes.

Example:
I ran 50minutes, 27 seconds at a 10min/mile pace.  First convert 50:27 to decimal minutes (27/60) to get 50.45minutes.

Then Distance = 50.45/10 = 5.045miles

Or the full calculation: (50+27/60)/10 = 5.045miles

If you want some automation for this, try:

Pace Calculator

Running Calculator

These allow you to plug in any two values you know and solve for the third.

We're going to be modifying that so if you enter any two values and click  Calc, the box for the third value will be populated.

Oh cool, that will be helpful since I've been running on a treadmill doing a mix of walking and running.
