Hey all you CT fans.

I have the opportunity to purchase a CT from a local bank who took some bike shop equipment in a bankruptcy sale. The unit is very resonable. But there is a catch, I've got no idea what I have and what it would take to work. I need some technical guidance.

They actually have two units, so if you are in the market, I could pick both of them up and we can work on them together! Let me know what you are willing to pay. I think they are taking reasonable offers.

This is what i have:

Load Generator with White sticker on flywheel.
Blue Trainer Stand
Power Supply
LCD Handlebar Control
Lots of wires
No software

Please help!

AJ

NO SOFTWARE??  Then how are you supposed to gather your data and have it talk with the 'puter??

I'm sure there's a download on the Internet, or a friendly Donk/BT'er who would be willing to "loan" you a copy of the software for gathering all the needed statistics and such.

I couldn't just come out and say that could I? I was hoping the "help" would include any software updates.

Depending on how much it is, I might be willing (able?) to unload you of that second computrainer (gasp!  Can she remember how to ride a bike?)  Riding the trainer with nothing to do sucks.

But, like Chris said, I'm sure SOMEONE can be found to buy it, even if it's not me...

Of course, if I didn't need $5k in dental work...stupid teeth...

There are enough of us with 'em that we can send the software discs back and forth no problem.  As long as you have the power supply, load generator, and handlebar controller, you are good.  Any missing wires can be ordered as replacements, and the cadence sensor is great but I'm sure you can find one elsewhere for not a lot of bucks or just go without for a while.

Wow, have had a lot of responses. Thanks everyone. I am going to do some set-up with TriDDS this weekend and see what is needed to make them complete, or at least document what would be need to get them running on 3D. Hold tight, updates are coming.

the white sticker is the 8001, isn't it? that should be pretty easy to get the 3D on it, and, like stated above, there's a bunch of us with the CT (though I'm sending mine into Racermate today) so the software parts should be pretty easy.. we can help as well...

so how did you happen to come across bank-owned bike stuff?? that sounds like a dream..... did they happen to have any 61 cm Cervelo? Felt? ohhh the possibilities and thoughts running through my head....

I should be hearing bank from the bank today on the other CT. I'm going to grab them both and sell the second to anyone that is interested.

TriDDS helped me get everything set-up. There were a few parts missing, but I think they were in the box I didn't grab. I will grab all the cabling and take stock of what the second one will need.

Software ran great.

I'll keep everyone updated.
