Just got back from a few days in Chicago. No more Sears Tower, whats up with that?

Got to run the lake front, what a great place to run. Just wish I would have had my bike with me. Do thoes of you that run or bike there bike any place else also? I didn't notice many hills.

Saw a lot of people swimming by the Navy Pier also, how is the water there?

The water there is great. They have buoys that will even mark your distance for you!

The trail is a nightmare to run/bike on after work hours. There are people EVERYWHERE! Tourists like to stop directly in front of you without notice and dart out in front of cyclists. Early in the day is not so bad.

I know a BTer that took a lady out on the trail a few weeks ago. She yelled "on your left" 3 times before she speared her with her aerobars. The lady apparently turned right in front of her because she wasn't paying attention.

Its a nice place to run and swim, but I'd be scared to death to ride my bike there.

I usually got down there by 6am, so not many tourists but still a lot of runners, bikers, walkers and swimmers.

I swim bike and run there everyday, pretty much. I do all my rides early, usually starting about 5 or 530, or it just gets too crowded. Running I do after work usually but it's still crowded, even for a runner. Ohio Street Beach is the best swim venue I've ever seen with the buoy markers (1/4 and 1/2 mile) and pretty much flat water as it's protected by breaker walls.

sounds similar to the beach paths in LA.   Great places to run or take the beach cruisers, but not a good place to train at 20mph.

I wouldn't want to bike on the lakefront except maybe just tooling around at sightseeing pace.  My boss recently broke his collar bone there when a girl on a bike in front of him suddenly decided to do a U-turn in the middle of the path, right in front of him.

Pretty much got to head to the 'burbs (like where I live) to find hills, unless you want to risk your life riding up and down the ramps in parking garages ;-)

All my runs are on the Lakepath, I generally hit the path at the North Ave underpass and head north....I can hit the end of the path north and back to my apt and its 18 miles....with water every 1/2 mile....can't beat it.

cycling....No way.
