Subject: How well does tri gear hold up in chlorine?
I have an outfit that I wear specifially for tri's.  However, last night I noticed that my bathingsuit (not for tri's, just for swimming) is a bit......see through.  I guess i have spent enough time in the chlorine for it to become threadbare, very quickly.  Now, I was wondering about my tri gear and wearing that in the pool....is it going to kill the clothing? (plus, I dont see any women at my pool in the tri shorts and top)  My gear does say chlorine resistant, but I am not sure how much I believe that. (Danskin tri short and a New Balance uber support top)

I wouldn't wear my tri shorts for every day swim training.  Just like any other speedo, it's going to wear out faster the more you use it

Chlorine isn't very good for most clothes.  I try not to wear my tri clothes in the pool very often.

Whatever you wear, rinse in cold water when you are done swimming.  It helps get the chlorine out.

I would avoid wearing (expensive) tri clothing in chlorinated pools

X2 - also, polyester tends to do better in chlorine than lycra/spandex

Not so great.  I rotate about 3 pairs of 2XUs in the pool and rinse them well, but you can bet on them being trashed in a few months.  I also have some Zoots I bought to add to the rotation.

Just be prepared to buy more clothes if you do it frequently...

edit:  it's the 2XUs that say chlorine resistant too...

If you are just going to do a race or two in them, or try them out in prep...as long as your rinse/shampoo them out well, they'll be fine. Wearing them regularly will wreck them/
