Yes. I think tapering are the hardest weeks of the plan. My wife got to the point where she told me she didn't care what the plan says go ride your bike a few hours and come back happy.

The last time I tapered I was overtrained and could feel that I needed the rest.  This time...yeah, going crazy.  It has had the effect that I talk about training even more than usual.  My wife is about to do physical harm to me, I think.

i like tapering. . i still worked out a lot during my taper (frequency, atleast), but the sessions were short (1 hr at the longest).  i thought it was nice because i could actually go and do other stuff as well!  and sleep in. . etc.  it was really weird tapering for my last race (on Sunday), because i hadn't fully committed to doing the race until my taper started!  yeah, weird.

i'm still training a decent amount, but i have found for me at least, cutting out some/most of the biking in the week leading up to the bigger races, running cut back, and upping hte swim a bit to keep total time up has left me feeling best and ready to race well..

just WAY too much energy right now, but i have a swim and run later, so that should help.

well if you quit the crack, maybe your energy would deplete

i notice that i don't sleep very well if i don't workout. . body doesn't get nearly as tired.
