I have a (what I hope is) slight problem.  My rear wheel was a bit out of true, to the point where it was rubbing against the chain stay (it is a very tight fit to begin with) and some of the paint on the seatstay (carbon fiber frame by the way) is rubbed off from where the rubbing was happening.  The wheel has since been trued and I have learned how to true a wheel and even created my own truing stand.

Is the rubbed paint something I should be extremely worried about?  Do I need to worry that the chain stay is now weakened by this or is that something that would take a lot more damage than some rubbing against a tie would do?  I am hoping that this is simply a superficial thing and does not affect the strength of the frame.

When you have to be concerned about damage to the clear coat/paint on carbon frames is in crashes.  Rubbing the coat/paint off should not be a problem at all.

My post beat in the pics, but I did see them afterward.

I have worse scrapes in my clear coat on my Scott.  Nothing to worry about really.
