Subject: Gatorade endurance and salty sweaters

I am a salty sweater and am currently using infinit for most of my workouts.  I've mainly used it because i can dial up the salt content a little bit more than the average joe.

However, I'm not crazy about the taste and am thinking about switching to gatorade endurance to re-fuel, are they any salty sweaters out there using it that can share some feedback?  Currently the infinit seems to be working well, ie good energy and no cramping...just am not crazy about drinking it...

Thanks!

I don't use Gatorade, so I can't speak to that - Gatorade is just too sweet for me.
I use Gookinaid ERG (that's what it used to be called - Electrolyte Replacement with Glucose).  It's now called Vitalyte.  It was created by a marathon runner/biochemist, Bill Gookin, in the mid-80s, and that's what my parents used then when they were marathoning, and that's all we've used since.  It's not sickeningly sweet, and replaces potassium, sodium and glucose without all the other crap.   I highly recommend it!  (I also used it when I was pregnant with my boys, and with my kids instead of Pedialyte - tastes much better!).

My husband sweats more than anyone I've ever seen, and he uses GE and Hammer Endurolytes.  I don't sweat very much, but I am a very salty sweater, and I have success with CLIF ShotBloks margarita flavor, which is 2x the sodium of their regular flavors.  I've used GE with no issues and will be using it in my upcoming marathon - I just don't train with it very much.

X-2 for the endurolytes.  I use the capsules and then use the gatorade electrolyte mix...

GE has plenty of sodium.  I use it all the time.  But you will need another calorie source if you're switching from Infinit.  GE has 150cal per 24oz bottle.  Your Infinit probably has 200-300.

You do know you can adjust the flavoring of your Infinit recipe though, right?

Do you order it straight from the infinit website?  Can you blend the flavors there?

I sweat a lot and use GE too. I really like it...much better than regular gatorade which I find to be too sweet. But, I buy the powdered GE and mix it so it's not full strength. I think you're supposed to use 3 scoops/24oz. I usually use 2- 2 1/2 scoops/24oz. and have never had any problems training or racing with it. Like someone else mentioned, I also use the Margarita flavored Cliff shot bloks and those are awesome! I'm planning on using GE and clif shot bloks for my HIM in two weeks instead of the race course offerings b/c they work so well for me. As with anything though, practice with it and see if it agrees with you and doesn't cause any GI issues!

I used to use Gatorade (never used the endurance formula) but after doing some research I found it just doesn't have the ingredients I need although it tastes pretty good.

I have been using Outlast by Outlast Energy for about 6 months and I love the lemonade flavor. They also have Vanilla but it's not my bag.
