Sounds like a plan.....I started at the Rock Pile and did the 6 Gaps on Sunday.....WOW what a day.  The weather was perfect!

Anyone know how many feet of climbing in Six Gaps?  My GPS said 19000 on Sunday, but I think it is closer to 12,000

Weather permitting, doing the same route tomorrow, 9/29.  Anyone have any thoughts about traffic conditions on a Saturday vs. Sunday on the back 3 gaps?  Will be getting an early start

The Garmin is great in general but it sucks at elevation.  The Six Gap organizers say that the entire Six Gap Century has 11,200 ft of elevation gain.  That includes the climb to Stonepile gap which you miss if you start at Stonepile and actually has more elevation gain than Woody's Gap if you come from the short side as the Century does.

There is considerably more traffic on the gaps on Saturdays as opposed to Sundays.  That is why Falls-runner always rides them on Sundays.  That being said. I do not mind riding them on Saturdays because I am used to the traffic in Roswell.

Hmmm, "considerably more" is concerning.  Last time I was up there, I think I was buzzed on 3 different occasions by 18 year olds in their brand new M3s.

add a couple more M3s, a few more crotch rockets, and maybe a few sightseeing cars.

As I said, I do not think Saturdays are so bad, but the last time we got David (Falls-runner) to go on Saturday, he had a near miss with a Harley.  The Harley wound up sliding off the road, but was ok other than very minor scrapes.  It was the Harley's fault of course.

David's theory is that enough people go to church to reduce the traffic Sunday mornings.

Good theory on the Church crowd.  Definitely makes a difference in Atlanta...though, the ones you really have to watch out for are the ones that speed trying to make it to church on time.  They are ruthless.

I'm out.  It looks like Turner's Corner is about an hour and 15 minutes from the house, and I need to use that time for training.

You guys have fun.
