I did terrible over the weekend!  My goal this week is to do better over the weekend and not eat calories over the 1,500 (adjusted for exercise).

Don't have total calories for today, but here's my food:

breakfast: english muffin with egg and cheese, coffee

lunch: chicken salad sandwich on wheat, diet coke

dinner: wonton soup, sprite

Kind of a lot of soda, but the Diet Coke was an attempt to make a migraine go away. The Sprite was used to try to make the nausea go away when the headache turned into a migraine.  Care less about the nutrition when I'm sick.

Hi, guys.  I hope you don't mind if I join in.  I tracked today on DailyPlate, but it just takes so long I might just jot it down here at the end of the day.  My goals are at least 3 fruits and 3 veggies daily, and little to no overeating or splurging.  I've actually come up with a point system for myself (3 points a day, one for each category.)   Today was a 2, due to the second afternoon snack (such a hard time for me).

(Couldn't get it to copy right from dailyplate):

Breakfast:  1/4 canteloupe plus a couple more bites, 1 cup NF plain greek yogurt, 1 tbs. almond butter, 1 tsp honey, 1 non-fat latte (made at home)

Snack:  3 carrots, coconut water

Lunch:  2 eggs, 1 cup broccoli, small slice whole wheat bread with a smear of butter, 2 bites of pb&j sandwich (kids...)

Snack:  apple

Snack:  1 bag "Simply Salted" micro popcorn, 2 chocolate "energy chunks"  (all-natural with seeds, nuts and chocolate, about the size of a cube of cheese)

Dinner:  Grilled veggies (portabello mushroom, zucchini, carrots, onions marinated in olive oil and balsamic vinegar) over 2 cups lettuce with toasted walnuts (2 tbs) and 1 oz blue cheese.

Post-workout( 1 hour Masters swim):  1/2 Lemon Larabar.

Seeing that 1850 cal was the norm last week. I'm planning to drop another 25 cal this week. I felt really good last week and am hoping to do a little more on the cardio this week.

So my target for today is 1825 calories.

"Plus I dropped 4 more lbs last week"! "Whooooo"!!!

Here's my food for the day:

Breakfast:  whole wheat english muffin, almond butter, honey, canteloupe, coffee w/ evap milk
Snack:  Cherry Larabar
Lunch:  Grilled marinated veggies (mushroom, zucchini, carrots, onions), walnuts, blue cheese, apple
Snack:  4 dates w/ several pecans
Snack:  Apple, 1 chocolate energy chunk
Dinner:  Fish sauteed in butter, steamed yellow squash (big bowl)
snack:  1 slice zucchini bread w/ smear of butter

Total cal ~ 2214

I think I will give myself 2.5 points on my scale for today.  Overall a good day, maybe shouldn't have eaten the zucchini bread, but everything was very healthy.  I'm going to try to have calories closer to 1500 tomorrow.  Cutting out at least one snack should be helpful!!;0

mmm..... zucchini bread.

I was feeling a little sick today, so I ate some comfort food tonight.  Of course that makes me feel better and worse at the same time.  Took the day off from logging but I can tell you I'm around 2000 calories for the day (which is a good 500 over my maintenance level).  I've been logging and eating maintenance or under for well over a month, so I probably needed the break.  This is also my first missed run in 11 weeks.  Oh well.  Back at it tomorrow!

Bill - I'm still working on upping my fats too.  This is a whole new way of eating for me, but I don't think I'm going back to nonfat yogurt anytime soon because it seems like I'm hardly ever hungry with the added fat.  Are you finding that to be the case as well?

Bill - you get used to all the extra protein, I promise!  Well, you see how many scoops of whey I have throughout the day (I've been instructed to get at least 20g at every meal and snack).  It would be a lot easier if I could eat chicken.

Here's my day.  I'm heading out for a mini-vacation this weekend, so I ended up packing as much stuff as I could in my bag.  A bunch of little baggies filled with white powder in my suitcase... should be interesting!  (I did label them "Vanilla Whey Protein" at least)

7:30 - 1/2 Ezekiel english muffin and 1T Peanut Butter.  Shake w/scoop whey, 1T half and half, instant coffee powder, 1/2c almond milk and peppermint extract
10:30 - 1/2 c 2% greek yogurt, 1T polaner, 1/2 oz raw almonds
Activity: full body lift (40 minutes)
1:00 - turkey burger patty on Ezekiel Bun, wedge laughing cow light cheese, box of veggies - zucchini, carrots, green beans.  1/2 oz raw almonds.
5:30 (pre-workout) - 3/4 c newman's own whole grain cereal, 1/2 c toasted oats, 1/2 c milk and scoop whey
Activity: 40 minute run
8:00 - my chili recipe w/ground turkey, zucchini, a little brown rice (150 calories), 1 RyKrisp
(2 fish oil caps)

Carb: 43.71 (181 g)

Oh - since you mentioned it, I should add that my comfort food last night was Ben & Jerry's Cherry Garcia FroYo.  My all time favorite!  At least I managed not to eat the whole thing.

I don't see much fat in that lineup at all - looks pretty healthy!

Definitely healthy, but I just love butter a little too much!!  No really, when I started switching to less processed foods, my fat intake went up, which ultimately is a good thing, since I'm eating real food.

Didn't have a chance to post last night. But I managed to keep cals down to 1820, so I'm pretty happy about that. Today much of the same.

Thought I'd stop in.  I'm not really logging calories this week.  I was very sick earlier in the week and was hardly eating.  Today is the first day I felt like eating and I'm eating a little extra.

Not such a great day for me in terms of calories, although I'm trying really hard to just focus on healthy eating and not worrying so much about calories.

Breakfast:  Smoothie (1 scoop vanilla whey, 1 pack Superfood Green Powder, 1/2 banana, 1/2 cup strawberries, 1/4 cup blueberries, 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt), 1 slice Zucchini bread w/ smear of butter, 2 cups coffee w/ evap milk
Workout:  SWim 2000 yds, 40 min.
Snack:  1 apple, 1 espresso brownie (I pick up my CSA veggie box from this amazing coffee shop...I couldn't help myself!)
Lunch:  ww tortilla w/ turkey, brie cheese, mustard,  1 hb egg, 1/2 cup sauteed swiss chard, 2/3 tiny canteloupe
Dinner:  2 ww tortillas w/ grilled skirt steak, avocado, corn, grilled onions, fresh salsa, tiny bit of cheese

Total Calories: 2255
1 point for veggies, 1 point for fruit, 0 points for self-control:  2 points for the day

Definitely a lot of food today, but very healthy...maybe a little too much cheese...oh yeah, and the brownie.

Just a quick post from me tonight.  Overall a good day for me.  Had a huge salad from salad bar at lunch, and might have gone a little heavy on calories, but I ate superclean today despite that, so 3 points for me!

I ate a lot today...most of it good.  I was cooking a lot for the boys and the week ahead, so I ate.

Breakfast:  peach, greek yogurt, bit of honey, sprinkle of granola, 1 slice zucchini bread, coffee w/ cream
Workout:  1 hr. spin class
Lunch:  2 small slices homemade ww bread w/ turkey, brie and apple slices, 1 tomato, 2 chocolate energy chunks
Snack:  2 chocolate zucchini cupcakes (can you tell I have a lot of zucchini around?)
Snack:  bowl of baked beet chips (homemade), small homemade granola bar
dinner:  3 small slices homemade pizza on ww crust, w/ pesto, fresh mozz, and tomatoes
Dessert:  2 chocolate zucchini cupcakes w/ whipped cream

Not a great day for willpower, but man did I get my veggies in!!  1 point for veggies, 1 for fruit, 0 for willpower
