Does anyone have any feedback on the race from prior years? I'm scheduled to participate on Sept. the 12th.

Flat as a pancake.  Trail run with probably a mile or more in heavy sand.  Transitions weren't timed separately last year, so only 3 splits, not 5..not sure if that is normal for that race or not.

I hope not. Been training for quite some time, and skipped my club tennis tournament because of this event.  I'll call the organizer to find out.

By the way, how did this person find out about the rumored cancellation?  I just left a voice and email message with the director.

Well....I just spoke with the Atsion Lake Rec Center and the person their said it was still scheduled.  We'll see.  Would be very disappointing if it was indeed canceled.

I JUST SPOKE WITH BRUCE, THE RACE DIRECTOR.

THE TRIATHLON IS STILL SCHEDULED AND HAS NOT BEEN CANCELED. 

It appears that the concurrent duathlon has been canceled, but the triathlon is still going to happen.

So, sign on up...in fact Bruce stated that the weather looks good for next weekend and encouraged folks to indeed sign up for the event!

I got an e-mail from them the other day saying the half IM distance was cancelled, so maybe that's where the confustion came from.  I think that race was schedule the following weekend or something.  Yeah, be prepared for a slog thru the sand.  The worst part comes near the middle of the run.

Though I think the lake was clean, I woke up the night of the race with a terrible pain in my left sinus.  They next day, I was laid out, but am feeling much better today.  It just seemed to come on and leave quickly. 

Did anyone who raced experience the same thing?
