I'm 46 but I have my 6 year old believing I'm 29 - HAAA! Would love to be a fly on the wall when he says to an adult "My mom is 29'.

I always get the question in cycling groups, or group runs/swims. I'm 25 but people have said I look 23-30!  Curious for everyone else.. no lying.. and Bear we all know your like 82.

54 in November, but I can still kick your slacker a$$. You get that question because they can't believe someone so young is so slow on the bike.

32. Time really does go faster when you get older.

I still get ID'd all the time though and this is in Canada where the drinking age is 19, so I guess I look 18. I'm going to go with that.

Rudedog55 - 2009-08-28 9:20 AM i turned 40 a week ago tommorrow...i was also carded...when you get out of your 20's, being carded is not an insult but rather amusing regardless of your sex, especially when it is someone you could be the parent of.

edit...40 and on TOP!!!!  lol

My mom, who is nearly 60, has actually been carded when we've all been out to dinner. She's actually gotten mad a couple of times - since she's sitting there with her daughters, who are both in their late 20's, and even if I look 21, that means my mother is still clearly above the drinking age!

I understand why I still get carded when I order drinks. I'm less than 10 years over the drinking age, plus I look a little young and you can be fired from your job if you serve alcohol to minors, since the business can lose its liquor license. But the movie thing was just plain insulting, esp. since the girl was maybe 17 at best.

Around here, if anyone in the group looks young, they'll card everyone in the group (including the gray-haired father of the 23-year-old).

I occasionally work a concession where we serve beer.  We can card anybody and I'll occasionally joke with people whether I should card them or not.  One night, I had a guy come up and order a couple beers.  He looked a little like one of the players, so I asked him for ID.  He laughed and said he was being inducted into the BB hall of fame that night (so I was right, he WAS a player, just a long time ago).  He said he was much older than I was!  Really?  Turns out we were the same age.

A few years ago my dad, mom, and myself we out for dinner.  My mom, who is in her 40s, was carded.  She cried that night.  We thought it was funny at the time, but she was truly embarrassed.

Growing up, when I would go out with my parents and grandmother, people would think that myself and my mom were sisters and my dad and grandmother were our parents.  Yikes!  My mom has 23 years on me and my dad has 12 years on my mom.

What people don't understand is that a lot of times the people who are carding you are carding everybody.  My boyfriend works in a restaurant and he cards everyone, even the old lady with a walker.   It's much better to just ask every single person than try to use your judgment and end up being wrong, and your restaurant having their liquor license revoked.  If you're older and you don't think you need your ID, well here in California it's illegal to be out in public without one, so that's your problem.

I used to work as a checker at a grocery store and I thought it was pretty rude when customers that I carded would ask me if I was old enough to buy alcohol.  That's not the point.  I'm trying not to get fired here, just hand over your friggin ID.

I gladly turn over my ID. I love it when they card me, but not friends at the same table, especially when they are younger than me. Woohoo!

Actually, I've always enjoyed being carded because I knew that I would particularly enjoy it in my 30s.

Calendar age: 51

Actual displayed maturity age most days: around 15

Just because you get older doesn't mean you have to mature.

Agreed.  I am the oldest of 3.  Everyone thinks I'm the youngest.  I tell them "no, I'm just the least mature"
