Subject: Getting a bulging frame replaced? (FELT)?
I had a crash this week. Went into a Comcast Van. The frame on my Felt S32 Tri bike (aluminum) now has a slight bulge in it, and the bike shop said I should not ride it (though I'm tempted to try until I hear a creaking/stress sound...I know I know).

Anyway, I was wondering if I could send it back to Felt and get a new frame at cost and then rebuild it using all my current parts which are fine.

Anyone know? or got a better idea?

I probably wouldn't ride it just because it could fail without warning.  If you can swap the frame out for cost I would do that and build it back up.

Keep in mind that aluminum is quite strong, expect when you get a stress point. It will just crack without any notice. How's your insurance? Really good? Then go ahead and take the bike for a ride. If you care about your health, then toss that frame in the dumpster and get a new one.
