Subject: Question about timing chip placement for DU.
I have run several races that used a chip and I laced it into my shoe. However, this weekend I'm doing my first multi-sport event , a DU, and I'm not sure where to put the chip as I'll be changing shoes from run to bike and there are no laces on my cycling shoes.

Where do you folks attach your chip for Du/Tris?

Thanks,
Rob

Timing chip can go on a strap that velcros (sp?) to your ankle.

Duathlons will typically provide a velcro strap or hospital band that hold the chip on your ankle...make sure to put it on your left leg to avoid possible problems with the chain and rings on the bike.

  • Thanks for the replies and great point about the chain rings! I never would have thought of that.
