I did an extra long swimming workout last night in the lake and now my sinuses are COMPLETELY blocked. This is very uncomfortable. Any advice on getting rid of this quick so I can eat without coming up for air???

BTW- I do normally get this but it is cleared up within 8 hours after the swim.

I used to have this problem. I tried various nasal sprays and/or pills to get some relief. Once I started wearing a nose clip at the pool the problem went away completely.

Try a Neti pot...google it...it works. I get wicked sinus crap from swimming too......and if I have been doing flip turns its even worse.

BTW....your avatar is scaring me!!! What IS it??

It's a fish with sunglasses silly! (you can find anything on the internet)

As far as the netipot goes...I think those scare me more than a dead fish with sunglasses. They look very uncomfortable; however, considering my current state I might just try it. Thanks!

Try the neti pot...it won't kill you!  Just take deep breathes through your mouth when you do it, just feels like getting water up your nose from a pool.  I do it after every OWS and have never had congestion, and my sinuses are pretty susceptible to congestion.

x2 on the nose clips.  I also have a generic decongestant nasal spray that I use when the symptoms start after an OWS.  A couple of shots with that and it usually keeps the real bad congestion away.

I have a similer problem but its not really congestion its more of a runny nose. I my nose runs like I am having a huge allergy attack and its really anoying when you have to hop on a bike and ride right away... there are only so many occasions to sneak out snot rockets sometimes...  I thought it was the clorine from the pool at first but it happens during ows as well... anyone else have this?
