Wait... Is there something in the USAT Rules that prohibit more than 2 wheels?

Other than that, the only question I have for the Trike is: Where is the drink holder?

Cool

I bet you could talk the bike store into throwing in the Cervello once you buy the Tricycle.

There was a woman on a tricycle in my tri last month.  Maybe she took the tri in triathlon too literally? Not a little kiddy one, obviously. But this wasn't a USAT sanctioned tri, either. I thought it was kind of cool. It wasn't aero, though, and she wasn't doing a lot of passing. There was also a guy on roller blades. That's way more than two wheels.

abier - 2009-09-04 2:08 PM You'll be faster on the trike by at least 1-2.5 mph.  Solid data to back this up can be found here.

Andy

He would have been so much faster without the beard and mustache!

hurtin - 2009-09-04 12:31 PM So I'm considering a new bike. I've narrowed it down to A Cervello P4 or a Radio Flyer Tricycle. The Frame of the Cervello is Carbon Fiber versus Classic steel for the tricycle. The Tricycle uses propriatary hardware versus Shimano DA components for the Cervello. The Tricycle is more stable at low speeds, which would make it better in transition. The Tricycle has a tendency to tip over during high speed manuvering, and has no brakes appart from leg braking. This could be a positive thing for leg fitness. The Cervelo is about 7k$ versus 50$ for the tricycle, clearly the Tricycle is the better option here. The Cervelo has options for wheels, handlebars and components, the tricycle has options for tassels and a bell. The Cervelo is wind tunnel tested, the tricycle is Radio Flyer approved.

Unfortunately, I think it would not be USAT approved

Everyone keeps saying it's not about the bike, so you should be just as fast on the Radio Flyer as the P4... BT said so.

Your tri sounds like a Sunday afternoon on a MUP. Are you sure everyone else knew you were racing? Sealed
