Pro 3804 Seacoast, NH! | Subject: Felt B2 Vs. Cervelo P2 So I'm looking at both these bikes for next year and want to compare each "line item". Is there any way I can get specifics on weight for each size bike? Not sure if the weight difference will be negligeable or not. I could give them each a call, but wanted a hard copy of the specs. Any info. from people who ride these bikes would be great!! |

The paint jobs are a little different from what I've seen...which is obvious. If you want the weight, you can compare to last year...won't be dramatically different yoy Edited by acumenjay 2009-09-04 1:24 PM |

Extreme Veteran 417 Davidson | Subject: RE: Felt B2 Vs. Cervelo P2 I bought a 2008 B2 in December of last year because the LBS gave me 25% off. They also had a P2C that I rode. Gotta' say, it was a tough choice! The P2C is sweet. I picked the B2 was because: The B2 came with Dura Ace and the P2C had Ultegra components; the wheelset seemed to be better on the B2; and the B2 was a lot more expensive bike with a nice discount lending a higher perceived value even if it was last year's model (no discount on the P2). You can get the P2C with DA components, they just didn't have one. Besides, with the 25% discount, the B2 was about $350 cheaper than the P2C with DA. I haven't regretted my decision, the B2 has been a great ride for me. I rode both bikes for at least a half hour on two separate occasions before I made my decision. If you spend enough time test riding, one of them will start to feel like 'the one'. The bike shop should be willing to spend a half hour or so doing a basic fitting for a good demo on each bike. Pro 6582 Melbourne FL | Subject: RE: Felt B2 Vs. Cervelo P2 B2 (DA) or did you mean B12 (Ultegra)? P2 Ultegra or DA? Lot's of differences between the brand models: B2 comes with a 54/42 crank and their bayonet setup, B12 53/39 crank and non-bayonet. P2 Ultegra has a 50/34 compact, P2 DA 53/29. The B2 has best thing next to all out race wheels with 40mm Al clinchers, B12 has a heavier duty version of the wheelset. |

I after reading the article, I'm wondering.....I may have a short torso, but what are we talking here? I'm 6'-3" with long legs and a short torso, but is a "short torso" like a 75:25 ratio or what? I know I know...go ride them, but I want there are two different shops I have to go to, so I want to go to the right one....if the reach for the B12 is just too long, then why bother.... |

No not ride them, get a fitting done first, then ride your options. I have a long torso with shorter legs. I had a LBS do a fitting for me before I considered any make. They then took my measurements and crossed to the frame that would best fit me. Turned out I was better off going with a bigger frame with a shorter stem then the smaller frame and raised seat. |

Are you sure, did you count the small ring? I assumed that the "compact" stated on the Cervelo website meant 50/34, or could be 50/36. Never heard of a 50/39 compact crank, but I guess there could be. Seems llike a lot of overlap in gearing without any benefit on the low side where it should be. From what's been stated on another thread recently, I can make my standard a 50/39 too with some FSA rings but what's the point? |
