Subject: Would you buy it?
Looking for some help from you BT'ers if possible...

I have the opportunity to buy a 2005 Claud Butler Criterium with aerobars (including bar end shifters) for about £100 ($160).

Now I know it's not a great bike but I really want to see if I like the aero position or not, it also has reasonable wheels and decent SPD pedals. I could use the aerobars, pedals and wheels on my current Trek if I don't like the Claud Butler or likewise I could just sell it on again for similar money.

It would cost me more just to buy aerobars with shifters.

Would you buy it as a means to testing out having an aero setup?

If you know that you can reuse the components, then I can't see why not buying it? For £100, you could probably test it out and if you don't like it, you can sell it to someone else for just about what you paid for it. You loss would be minimal at most.
