So I have been blessed with very large feet (15) Even though there are more and more people today with sexy, big feet like mine shoe stores and companys still aren't loving us.

So I just got my bike, beginners road bike nothing fancy used off craigslist. I am thinking of just getting the toe cage (or whatever its called) and just riding with my sneakers on.

However, anyone know of somewhere I can find large tri/cycling shoes? Or should I just wait untill after my next big purchase (Garmin 305) and go with my running sneakers? I would like them for the 2011 season as I am looking at doing a few Olympic.

Lake is the only company I know of that makes tri-specific shoes that big. Sidi makes quite a few of their models up to size 52 and in multiple widths. I have Sidi's Zephyr in size 50 and they're very nice, if a little expensive.

If you decide to wait and just ride with toe cages, be careful which kind you get. Most of the ones I tried could not adjust large enough to handle the width of my running shoes (which were more than an inch wider that the pedals in some cases).

Is there any benefit to ride with a toe cage over not if I am just riding in my running shoes?

Bontragger Makes a Tri shoe in size 50.

Toe clips will help with power tansfer and will help you stay on the pedal better.  I recommend if you dont go clipless go with the toe clips.  It is more of a benefit than you would think.

www.performancebike.com

They have several size 15s (50s) in stock.  I would recommend, however, that you wait for a sale, they frequently run 10% and sometimes 20% off.
