LBS has an 06 Orbea Ordu with Ultegra components, flash point wheels, FSA SLK carbon cranks, profile design aero bars. I am figuring I could get a pretty good deal on it ( being an 06 and all) but don't really know what to offer. I don't get laughed out of the store. I rode it and love the bike, but don't wanna let them know.

What would be a fair price? Any advice ???

Four-year-old new bike? Probably 1/3 of the original list.

I know nothing about Orbeas...

Well... I guess it comes down to what you are willing to pay for it. It's hard to price a 4 year old bike.

It's definitely a tight bike... a brand new ultegra-equipped one runs $4500ish... so I think somewhere around $2500 is what I would offer if I liked it. But, as always, it's easier to spend somebody elses money.

Good Luck

IME if a bike is taking up space in a store for 4 years, even a really nice bike like that one, the shop will be all to happy to get rid of it.  Yesterday I got an '08 Kestrel Talon (the road configuration with FSA SL-K light carbon cranks and Dura Ace) for 1495$, basically the shops cost.  Believe me they are willing to deal.  One obvious caveat, it would be hard to ask your shop to take a loss, so don't go in thinking 1000$ but if you go in and say "hey, I like this bike, but I'm not so in love that I'll pay full retail for a 4 year old ride.  What can you do for me on the price?"
