velasqu7 - 2005-05-20 3:05 PM Happy to report that I have completed 100% of my swim pledge (30,000 yards) and I stil have a WHOLE week to go... . I am to going to swim some more to make sure I get to see what the ladies "really" look like

Don't swim a whole lot more!!! remember that the highest and lowest percentages will be disregarded for the final calculation...

That is correct... what should I do then?  Stop swiming?
I thought, I read somewhere, that some of my extra swimming can be used to help out people that could not complete their pledges...   is that correct?  That swimming challenge thread is way too long already....

Yes, swimming over your goal will help the rest of the team but the highest individual will get cut...along with the lowest.  But someone has to be that guy.  My only advice is not to go crazy trying to do 200% just to help the team because it will certainly be wasted effort (and likely way more abuse than you should be giving your body).  Just go about your workouts as you normally would if this challenge wasn't going.

I wouldn't hold back. Only one score gets discounted. There's got to be some bragging rights attached to being the top dog. BTW anyone else amazed at how easy it has been to achieve double/treble whatever, your normal swimming distance.

I think the ladies are in for a shock come Monday morning. The 2 guys that were "MIA" for the first 2 weeks appear to be humming along now.

Yes, it would be shocking if the men started hitting their goals. Shocking but good, as we love a challenge (which seemed to be lacking the first 2 weeks).

However, that is irrelevant to Team Chyck performance.
