Subject: RE: Ran my longest distance so far... yea..uhh about that. lol so i was a little under prepared energy wise towards the end. My routine was woke up, ate a bagel, downed a tall glass of cranberry w/ energy (oceanspray ), and a mug of coffee and hit the road. had 24 oz of water on my belt and 2 gels. approx halfway thru the run i paused and downed my gels (i should have only had one ) and 16 oz of water. then the sun began to heat up and i downed the other water and i was out! good thing there was a ballpark out there with a water fountain otherwise i'd be one SOL runner. Next time i plan to down 4 oz of water every 3ish miles and a gel every 6 miles in order to keep my energy up for a good pace. this might not be enuf water but i got bloated today downing all the water at the park, even tho it felt right. |
