I'm looking to buy my wife a stopwatch for her upcoming attempt to qualify for the Boston marathon. Her current watch does splits but has no lap memory. She has a band that she likes but we're having a hard time finding specs for a watch to fit it to.

The band is cloth and it has a 21mm (13/16") pin. I haven't found an online shopping site yet that gives me specs, just pretty pictures. Can anyone provide a good website or watch recommendation?

based on this site:http://www.voguestrap.com/ironman.html
21mm is really wide.... ladies is 14mm, mens is 16mm

that said, "fullsize" may be what you need, like this one

Not many choices... have her find a new favorite band that's not so wide!

Ah I measured the wrong thing. It's the distance between the bars, not the length of the whole pin. Hers is 16mm... so now I need a good watch that has lap memory and fits a 16mm band.

Go with one of the Timex Ironman men's models.  They last a long time and you can wear them to swim - I wore one every day of high school swim practice.  You can get them with 30, 50, or 100 lap memory.  I usually get one with 50 although I never use anywhere near that many.

I have one of the Ironman 50-lap memory watches.  There seemed to be two sizes in the store when I bought...a regular and a slim (or maybe they called it sleek) that was a tad less bulky and came in regular colors along with a light purple and white...as though it was supposed to be a woman's watch.  It is pretty straightforward to use.

Another vote for the Timex Ironman watches.

They sell them at lots of places (including Walmart). So you could probably just go to one of those stores -- and take the band with you. That way, you'd know which model would be good with the band (mens' or womens', etc).

I've had Timex watches for YEARS. The one I have now has a 50-lap memory. Like Jen said, they're also really good for swimming (but don't push a button while it's underwater, or it'll flood.)
