My Tri season is over.  I have no wetsuit, and the remaining races are all OWS in the Atlantic- the Atlantic is F-ing cold in August, let alone October through December in NH and Maine.  So I have set a weight loss goal, and will race a 5k, but it's really different than training for a Tri.  Im sort of lost without my routine.  I had a blast with my wife and daughter at the park today, and checked off the whole honeydo list... but...

I can't keep my tri training all year long...my body would not handle it (genetic hip defect)...

So Im looking forward to ski season, but I already miss training.  I ll keep up with it 3-4 days a week to hit my weight loss goal, but its just not the same...

maybe I ll move to a warmer climate....

I am in the same boat over here on the Pacific side of the United States.  My Tri season ended a week ago.  I lost 60 lbs. about a year agao and prior to beginning training for tri's and gained about 10 back during my training so I also planning on getting my weight back down as one of my goals.  I will probably follow a off season maintenance plan to have something to go by; suggest you look into one if you like the daily routine and having clear direction.  Mainly working on running and swimming skills and technique and probably a twice a week spinning class.

Good luck in the off season.  Enjoy the powder.

Masters swimming (50m to 1500m), 5k, 10k, 1/2 and full marathons, mountain biking, cycling races, trail running.

Keep it fun, keep it fresh and don't get into a slump.

Yep,
Had to dump my last official tri due to a knee issue (don't want to risk the Chicago Marathon). Wife and I are doing the Jailbreak here in TN, (3.5 mile canoe, 8 mile mtn bike, and 2.5 mile trail run). going to do it as a team/relay, always a good time!  Will be training up my swimming over the winter as I've signed up for IMFL70.3, and have a few 5ks, and a marathon on tap in Feb (Gasparilla, last year they're running the full).  Either way, will find a way to keep busy...

I wish... I ski in ME and NH... Powder= 1-7 inches before they groom the hell out of it... but that just makes it fast for racing!

I finished my A race 2 weeks ago, IM Canada, probably being the fittest I ever had, had a tough race, and now am taking 4 weeks off with no swim, bike or running to fully recover. It's beautiful here in MA and I'm enjoying being outside but miss running and biking. Recharging and taking time off to recover is important to be able to come back next year with keen desire to train and be mentally excited.

You can rent wetsuits fairly cheaply...

More importantly, fall is the start of running season. Sign up for longer distance road races, maybe an early winter half marathon, to build your run base. It can only help improve that 24/25 AG finish.
