Subject: leg/ arm warmers vs Compression clothing
I am looking at adding some are and leg warmers to my wardrobe. I want to try to run/ ride longer in cooler seasons. My question is do compression leggings work the same as leg warmers. Its seams to me that compression clothing would have the warming effect and the supportive qualities. For those of you that have some experience with the clothing please give me some details.

Thanks
Eric Peterson

Just in case you were wondering I just want to know if compression clothing would work as leg warmers. It seems for the money one could get two benifits for the price of one.

Thanks Again,
Eric

Well, compression tights would be warmer than nothing, but depending on where you are, might not be warm enough for winter. for me, i would still need leg warmers or winter tights over them for winter riding.

Most compression stuff wouldn't be a good choice to substitute for leg/arm warmers....fabric is very different.

2XU's calf guards are similar to light weight leg/armer material but wouldn't cover your knees or thighs.

Most arm/leg warmers comes in two weights one is lightweight lycra type fabric and other is brushed on back side that is significantly warmer.

CWX clothing has compression in it and comes in various weights for different temperatures but I don't think they make leg/arm warmer. They have great running shorts and tights.

I use compression tights for running (and skiing) in the winter and they work well for that but I agree that they wouldn't be a good sub on the bike.  The key with arm/leg warmers to me is the adjustment possibilities whereas with the compression tights once they're on, they're on.

Can't really answer your question in regards to wearing compression gear in place of arm/leg warmers...BUT, I can say that I LOVE my Craft Flex arm warmers and plan on buying their knee warmers in the very near future.   For what's it worth, my Craft arm warmers fit fairly snugly, so I do feel some compression-like qualities in them.
