Subject: Finished my first tri yesterday (did better than expected)
I did my tri yesterday (the Olympic distance Nation's Triathlon).  While it was a lot harder on my body than I thought, I was able to finish in a pretty respectable time (2 hours, 55 minutes).

Not bad for a 240lb guy who smoked and never ran until about 8 months ago.










I have to say that even though I did all the training by myself I could not have done as well without the help and support of the people on this board.  Thank you all very very much!

Well done and congrats on your success!  Keep it up and you will have even better times and lifestyle ahead.

It was a little crowded, but not as bad as it could have been.  The transition are was HUGE .........

Actually I just got the official time.  I actually did even better.  2 hours and 52 minutes.  Practicing my transitions made a huge difference.  I had a 3:43 on t1 and a 2:40 on t2.  Considering how big the transition area was, I think that's pretty decent.
