Has anyone else encountered the problem I experienced at the Gear West Dualthlon yesterday?
I returned to T2 after a particularly tiring ride coping with a 40 mph head wind at times to find "my" spot in T2 taken by some inconsiderate b*****ds bike. I was pretty annoyed. My change of gear was all neatly laid out . So it should have been apparent that this was someones place. But they put their bike right on top of my stuff. I wasted time in T2 looking for a place to put my bike as a result I forgot to take my Gu and bonked 1/2 mile from the finish.
I should have thrown his bike away..

Yep, that happened to me in my 2nd tri. Someone racked their bike right on top of my run stuff. So I pushed their bike over and racked mine where it belonged next to my stuff.

That's exactly what I was about to say.  I can understand if the person to either side of you didn't get their bike totally back in it's original spot but anyone who just took the wrong place...I'd just shot it out of the way.

If that happened to me, the person would've found a note where their bike had been:

"I'm sorry that you felt that you needed to park your bike on my running gear.  I took the liberty of moving your bike to a secure location, since I didn't know who it belonged to.  You may claim your bike from under the first buoy at your convenience."

...or if you can't find it there, look under my truck.

If it was me, that bike would have been lying in the middle of the transition area. At my first tri, they made a specific announcement that you had to re-rack your bike in the same spot you had it in.
