I actually queried Garmin on this and the reason their website does not say it is compatible is literally because they would rather you use Garmin connect...so they left off this little tidbit of information on compatibility.  I was pretty pizzled about that because I spent quite some time trying to figure out how to get the data I wanted.  If I had just known that I could use Training Center I would have been a much happier customer.
