Subject: Video Editing Software what say you COJ?

I've been taking some video's recently, some underwater and some above ground. I'd like to find a good inexpensive video editing software program. I will want to splice different video's together and I'm sure I'll find more things to do. It's already in digital form, I just have no idea where to start.

One friend suggested Pinnacle Systems.

I'm currently using Adobe PhotoShot for still image editing.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Windows I'm assuming? The one suggested is good. I hear very good things about Vegas, but I think that is more expensive.

Sorry I'm not more help, do most of my editing on a mac with iMovie/Final Cut Studio.

Adobe also makes a video editing product but I think it's high end and $$$

I have some expertise in this area.

Spent a lot of time learning Adobe Premiere, great program.  Also have used Pinacle and some other cheaper type editing programs.

Bought a Hard DRive camera that I could not use with this software so I had to switch.

I now use Vegas and it is cheap and very short learning curve.... at least it was for me.

Here are some music videos I wrote, produced and edited for my old band... that's me on guitar

Is the one you are referring to the Vegas Movie Studio 9 for like $55?

That sounds pretty good if that is the one you are talking about.

I think he likes the $149 version.

I know my brother uses Vegas on his PC and loves it, and he's not a computer guy (he's just a mechanical engineer)

I bought the $119 version about 2 years ago actually

It is pretty easy to use, (intuitive) does like 3 video tracks and has a lot of functionality on the sound end as well

But the cheaper version would probably do about anything you want..... can't really remember why I spent the extra $$$$

But I do know that the version I bought smokes Pinacle and a couple of other inexpensive programs (can't remember the names of but would recognize if I saw) that I have recieved bare bones versions of with different cams I have bought.

BTW I bought my copy at Best Buy

Sorry I posted the wrong link for the one I thought would work for you

I went back and checked the comparison chart and this one will likely do anything that you ever want to do

There is also a free trial download so that you can test drive it.

I now remember the reason that I got the upgrade, the only reason was so that I could get sound forge as well.

But then audio is really my thing
