I've read all of the discussions about the P2 vs B12 and I have made my choice.  I am picking up the P2 DA on Wednesday.  I am so excited to get to start riding a bike setup for me.  I rode a very old road bike all season that was not very close to my size.  Now I get to ride something that is pretty much built for me and I am looking forward to that.

You can bet your a$$ that there will be a bike porn thread started on Thursday!!!!

Congrats!!   You will love the bike.  Out of all of the C*ap I have purchased the last couple of years my P2 is by far the best thing I purchased.  I love the bike.

Good pick.

Just keep in mind one thing that I learned the hard way -

Keep the rear skewer REALLY tight. Like max-tight. The Cervelo rear cutout design is slightly flawed - the rear skewer if not tightened all the way, will slip forward and push two small limiter screws into the frame. Myself and MANY folks on slowtwitch have damaged these limiter screws and the frame screwholder because we were pedaling hard enough to drive the wheel forward.

The skewer has to be MAX tight so it won't slip forward.

I had a old roadbike , and I mean old, the thing was build sometime in the 80's. Bought a P2 about 3 months ago. Certainly made the bike part of the race more fun. (did I mention quicker?) Although I must state the my wife drives a very hard deal and as we speak there is workmen redoing the kitchen. Had to factor the price of the kitchen in with the bike. Still worth it though.

Also if you feel the urge to do a road race, the P2 it quite adaptable and if you put normal roadbars on it, its quite legal to race.

Out of curiosity, how did you pick P2 over B12?  I am trying to make the same decision (also considering B14).

Congrats on the ride.  enjoy.

slimfast - I made my decision based on feel.  I rode both and was fit on both and the Cervelo just seemed to fit me better.  It was a hard decision because I really like the color scheme of the B12 and not much of a red guy......but I think it will grow on me.  When I did my fit on the P2 it just seemed like the one, that is about all I can say.

Is a P2 and a P2C the same thing?

I picked up my new P2 DA yesterday. My bday present

I tried the B12 and the P2. I have longer legs, shorter torso, so the P2 was a better fit. I had trouble feeling the difference but the fitter was quite definitive about it.

Congrats on the bike.  My P2 Ultegra comes in next week!  Can't wait either.

The P2 is the old P2C 2009 the P2 was not made in Aluminum only carbon.

Getting a new bike is the best! Enjoy ever minute of riding the sweet new bike.

This is my first year I haven't gotten a new bike and I miss the excitement/thrill of a new bike.

Congrats on the Cervelo. I've pretty much decided on the same bike for next season. Wonder what the 2010 models will be like?

Would the P3 be considered the "upgrade" to the P2?

l mean, if you had the money, would the P3 be a better option 9 times out of 10, or is the P2 a different bike entirely?

A P2 with race wheels  is a lethal machine that has won more than just a handful of races. P3 to me feels a bit more "nervous" and the ride is harsher on the road but that is just my personal opinion. Would I buy a P3 if I had the money? Cant say, I am very happy with my P2. A client of mine swears by his P3. Big question is really "will you be faster?" In my case I don't  think so as the biggest factor in cycling is not the bike but the person riding the bike.
