Added another hour this morning .    Must say the cool weather is making the longer runs much more pleasant .

That's the Truth!

I hate running when the temp is above about 75 and the humidity is 80.  It STINKS.

Been in the 50's in the mornings here.   I can't beleive I'm saying this, but I've actually been wearing tights.   Up thar in Minnesota, this weather was definately SHORTS weather, and some times a tank top!

Warm weather gets one so wimpy!

RED LETTER DAY

Well -- Even though I finished the challenge goal on Tuesday, I've added some additional runs.

This morning was 7 miles -- No Walking!   I'm excited.  Haven't done that far in one run in close to 3 years.   But this is gonna be nothin... Marathon #6 coming up in 18 weeks!

Looks like everyone is very close. Let's all make our goals and win this thing!

I got in just about 12 miles today and that puts me at just over 300 miles for the month. I haven't had a big month like this in awhile and it feels good.

For the final day of the challenge I took my first steps (literally) back to running, doing 2 miles of brisk walking, per doctor's orders. I do have a dull ache in my heel, something like a 1-2. It's gonna be a long road back!

Well I just got done with one of the crappiest run I've had in a while. I had planned on doing about 7-8 miles but right when I hit about 1 1/2 miles I got a real bad case of heartburn, one of the worst I can remember having. I tried to keep going but I ended up turning around at the 2 mile mark. Even then I couldn't run most of it. Of the 4 total miles I probably only ran 3 of them but I'll still count it as 4, hell I walked/ran the rest.

I have a history of acid-reflux and my doctor switch meds on me. I'll have to go back because these aren't working at all.

Anyway, the 4 miles gets me over the top and 100% for the challenge. Looks like most of us got there. Congrats everyone!!!

Welcome back!!!  I'm sure you will get to the end of the road.  I've learned about these roads this summer, they aren't SO bad in the end

Ya'ay... just finished my goal... and with a nice "jog" in the middle of my walk.
I've got a lot of ground to make up in endurance that I've lost this summer.  I didn't do a very good job keepin' movin' while I was down for the count

Oh well, guess I'd better go sign up for Nov challenge so I can keep movin'  now that I'm goin.

Made it to 105 miles...exceeded my goal of 83 miles...

Thanks team for the inspiration (and for calling me a sandbagger...I knew I could do better, but didn't want to risk letting the team down ).

Have a Happy Halloween everyone, and hope your November is as great as your October was...

Remember, we still are in the off-season, so enjoy doing things other than tri training!  I think I'll take up power napping.

Ciao!

Congrats to all our runners this month ..

Its awsome to see so many 100%

I felt so good  this morning i did a training run in complete darkness .. 5am ... then

i lost my mind and  drove to a local race to run in the Inaugural Monster dash on  the hardest  hilliest  5K race i can imagine ,  on lombardi's ranch a local pumkin farm   and had three loops through a  hilly corn maze.  As well a people giving wrong directions and jumping out of the course to scare you .  There was a ton of folks running in costume .

AND NOW....
The moment you've all been WAITING for.....
THE FINAL RESULTS OF THE OCTOBER HALLOWEEN RUN CHALLENGE

1st place - Show us your Ghoulies - 99.5%
2nd place - E.V.I.L. Running Reapers - 98.7%
3rd place - Crypt Keepers - 97.6%
4th place - Running Pumpkins - 96.7%

The winning team, Show us your Ghoulies may add a signature line: "My team won the Annual Halloween Run Challenge!"

All other teams are, technically, losing teams. BUT since all teams had such high completion rates, I'm going to waive the "penalty avatar changes."

And, of course, we can't forget about the SECONDARY CHALLENGE aka the POST PADDING CHALLENGE! With 5 threads to their name, this should come as a surprise to no one....
The winner of the Post Padding Challenge is:
Show us your Ghoulies!!!

GREAT JOB, EVERYONE!

I hope you all enjoyed yourselves, and achieved your goals this month.

See you in the next challenge!
