Subject: Boston Marathon question
Does anyone happen to know if and when the Boston Marathon sells out?

(I'm assuming it sells out.)

Well, you do have to qualify (I'm assuming you knew that).  In addition, the field is limited to 25,000 qualified runners.

Qualifying for the 2010 Boston Marathon began September 27, 2008, so if you ran a fall marathon on that date or later your time can be used to qualify for the Boston Marathon in both 2009 and 2010, even if you run in 2009.

Qualifiers for the 114th Boston Marathon must meet the designated time standard that corresponds with their age group. Qualifying times must be run on or after September 27, 2008. Seeding was based on qualifying times, and is subject to review and verification. All participants will adhere to the guidelines set forth by the B.A.A., USA Track and Field or foreign equivalent, International Paralympic Committee, Wheelchair Sports, USA, Disabled Sports, USA, and the United States Association for Blind Athletes. Qualifying times are met in competitions observing these same rules. Proof of qualification accompanied each athlete's application. Participants are required to be 18 years or older on race day.

The qualifying times below were based upon each athlete's age on the date of the Boston Marathon in which they are participating.

Yeah, I BQ'd earlier this year.

I was wondering about the sell-out because I'm trying to make commitments with the scheduling.

Thanks!
