Subject: sub 10 min. pace

Finally! I participated in a charity 10k today and was able to do a 9:39:36 pace. I have been struggling to break the 10 minute mark all year. It felt really weird to just do a run for time not swim and bike so I really had no idea how hard to push it. when the timer called out 8: 50 something for the first mile I said huh oh oh! but I was able to keep going 3 mile mark was 28:?? I should have pushed harder from the 4 mile mark but was not sure how much fuel was in the tank! So I guess there is hope for us plodders...

Very cool! When I did my first tri (an OLY) I was so worried about running out of gas, I paced myself at just over 11 min/miles. When I finished I felt bad because I had a lot left in the tank. I did a sprint this weekend and pushed it a bit harder (5k) and was able to do a 9:3x pace. My goal for 2010 is to be in the 8's for a 10k pace.

Good job. The 10 minute mile pace for the 10k is mile goal.

awesome job on the 10 min pace and even bigger on sub 9 for the first one on accident. its hard to stay motivated when you see people of "average fitness" running sub 8s or so. 10 mins is a huge goal of mine that I havent been able to do for more than 2 miles in many years. GRATZ TO YOU!!
