Subject: Recommendation for good ENDURANCE trainer/spinning DVDs...
My wife is thinking about IM New Zealand next year. The problem is that the race is in March, and we live in MN where it's hard to get in 100+ mile bike rides in Jan/Feb.

So she's looking for a good endurance DVD workout to do on her trainer in the basement. We have good "Speed work" DVDs ("Spinnervals"), but she's looking for something in the 2-4 hour range for her long workouts. Any ideas? Thanks everyone!!

Watch movies and make games out of them.

For example, watch a part of the Lord of the Rings trilogy for a long session. Every time there's a scene where a group is walking, try to spin a little quicker, sprint a bit, whatever. Or watch any movie with Bruce Campbell or Steven Siegal, and sprint every time the main character has a cheesy line/scene (please take care to not sprint through the whole movie).

Thanks. Yeah, we do that sometimes. But now she's looking for an actual LONG workout DVD....

The company that does Spinervals has longer training vids and they also have the "On the Road" series where you virtually ride a couple of long outdoor rides.

see them all here:
